A seven-year-old boy will take part in his first national go kart racing competition where Lewis Hamilton began his career.
Over a summer of races, Ethan Lloyd from Rickmansworth, gained enough points, coming second out of 23 children to qualify for the event.
Held at Rye House in Hoddesdon, where Lewis Hamilton raced as a child, Ethan will compete in the Total Karting Zero, 2022 Regional Championship: National Final on Saturday, October 22.

Having only first stepped into a race car in March, Ethan has plans to turn his hobby into a career.
He said: “I love going fast, driving in the rain and overtaking people.
“I enjoy seeing friends at the races and having my family there.
“I’m so happy when I cross the line that I start celebrating and waving to everybody.
“When I am older, I want to be an F1 driver.”
His dad, Daniel Lloyd, said Ethan’s progress has far surpassed his expectations considering the short time he has been racing.
He said: “He’s a complete novice, and it can be scary to watch, especially as cars average speeds of 40mph.
“But he is making me more comfortable because he absorbs the information so well.”
