A Nisa spokesperson said: “The store will retain the very best of Co-op with an excellent Co-op own brand range that customers are used to having available alongside other new products, brands and services introduced.”
A spokesperson for Co-op said the decision to close the store was taken under careful consideration.
They added: “The sale of our Bovingdon store is in no way a reflection on the hard work and commitment of colleagues, who have been informed.
“We would like to thank the community for its support of the store.”
Co-op confirmed the store’s 11 jobs have been safeguarded.
