A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the opening of ten new homes for people on a council’s housing register.

The houses have been built on a former garage site in Coniston Road, Kings Langley, that backs onto fields.

Dacorum Borough Council says they are a mixture of one and two-bedrooms for social rent to applicants on its housing register.

The homes, built by developer Bugler Homes, are described as “energy efficient”, featuring solar panels, increased insulation to the fabric above the current building regulation requirements, and an electric vehicle charging point.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the completion in September, council mayor Alan Anderson said: “Along with deputy mayor Cllr Alan Johnson, this is a development we are particularly proud of as these are the first new council homes to be built in our Kings Langley ward since the early 1980s."

He added: “We are continuing to build new homes throughout the borough to support those in housing need and have plans in place to deliver 350 new homes between 2020 and 2025.”
