A large fire broke out near Kings Langley railway station this afternoon (October 17).
The blaze took hold at a disused building in Station Road with five engines rushing to the scene at 2.15pm.
Pictures online showed smoke spreading across the road, which was shut as emergency services worked to bring it under control.
Another image showed flames in a small roof window with smoke billowing into the sky.
A Herts Fire and Rescue spokesperson said a "well-developed" fire was found in the detached building's roof before it was extinguished by 4.15pm.
Several people also voiced concern on social media for a nearby florist, but they were later confirmed to be safe.
No one is believed to have been injured.
