Men in balaclavas were caught on CCTV outside a shop moments before it was burgled.
"Extensive damage" was caused to The Beauty Room's front door in Watling Street, Radlett, after which an empty cash register was taken.
Following the break-in at around 8pm on September 23, police today (October 17) released images of two men moments beforehand.
Officers are appealing for information, witnesses, or dashcam footage from anyone driving through the area.

In a separate break-in, a home was ransacked over the weekend in Croxley Green after burglars broke in through the back door.
Police said it was currently unclear what was taken but the victims returned home to find the place in a mess.
