Development appears to have started at a former pub that has been closed for over two years.

The Royal Oak in Sparrows Herne, Bushey, has now been boarded up after shutting in January 2020.

It was threatened with closure over the years prior because the owners wanted to convert the buildings into flats.

Images show that builders Transhomes have closed off the pub to commence with its redevelopment.

The building was given special protection against redevelopment in 2019, but its community value status was stripped in order to introduce new flats to the area.

It is currently unclear when the development will be finished.
