Students reportedly had to hide under their tables this afternoon as a school was locked down and searched by police.
In an email to parents today (October 12) Rickmansworth School confirmed it had to be locked down for 10 minutes at around 1.20pm.
According to the headteacher, Hertfordshire Constabulary were responding to a call unrelated to the school, in Scots Hill, and were searching nearby buildings including an area of the site.

One parent told the Watford Observer his son’s class had to hide under their desks during the lockdown.
He added that social media posts have reportedly been circulating among students showing a man in handcuffs and numerous police cars near the school.
Herts Police have now confirmed three men have been arrested in connection with an incident that caused the school closure.
