Unwanted, homeless, and abandoned cats will have a new place to stay as a Watford charity opens a new rescue centre block.
Staff and volunteers gathered at Watford’s National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) on October 6 to celebrate the opening of the rescue centre’s new cattery.
Bushey Councillor Anne Swerling cut the ribbon and declared the block open, asking “what would people and pets do without all of you?”.

Centre manager Jackie de Friez said: “This grand opening is an exciting occasion for all the team and it’s the largest development our site has seen for many years.”
The cattery includes eight pens which can house one to two cats, as well as storm shutters and a canopy system.
