The cost to remove and replace a set of crash-prone bollards at a width restriction in Watford has been revealed.
Bright yellow posts were installed in Woodmere Avenue in August after Hertfordshire County Council accepted changes were needed to the design.
It came after footage of drivers clipping – or in some cases smashing – into posts was viewed millions of times around the world.
Six smaller battered posts were removed from each side of the road and replaced with taller yellow posts, set further back from the kerb.

The work cost £11,250 and was funded from Meriden & Tudor Liberal Democrat county councillor Steve Cavinder’s annual £90,000 highways locality budget.
The county council says it was able to keep costs lower because the work coincided with the resurfacing of Woodmere Avenue.
Since the new posts were installed, Cllr Cavinder said he is only aware of one collision.

He said: “I’ve had a few comments from residents about the new posts and generally they have been very positive.
“I’m happy the work has been done and I’m optimistic the changes will make a difference. Personally, I’ve not had a problem using this width restriction but there’s no doubt it is easier to navigate through now.
“But I’m still absolutely of the view ANPR cameras are the long-term solution and I’ll keep pushing for that.”
