Pictures have revealed the perilous state a railway bridge was left in and the extent of damage to vehicles after a head-on smash.
A huge number of emergency services responded to the crash which happened in Harper Lane, Radlett, at around 3.15pm on Tuesday (September 27).
A grey Range Rover and a black Hyundai both suffered a huge amount of damage but police have confirmed there were no serious injuries.

The front right-side of the Range Rover was completely caved in, losing a tyre and suffering wreckage to the driver’s door.
The impact of the collision caused part of the bridge wall that runs over the Thameslink railway line to collapse after being struck by the Range Rover.
No trains are thought to have been travelling through at the time so missed any flying debris but some services were delayed for track inspection.

The wall will now have to be rebuilt and the bridge – situated by the junction with Watling Street – will likely stay shut until those repairs are completed. It remains closed this morning.
The Hyundai, which appeared to be travelling in the opposite direction to the Range Rover, was also damaged and hit temporary barriers on the other side of the bridge that protects a footpath.
Police say a silver Toyota was also involved in the crash.
The bridge where the crash happened is single-file with the flow of traffic controlled by three-way traffic lights.
It has been that way since early 2021 when the Harper Lane and Watling Street junction was redesigned to have permanent traffic lights installed for the first time.

Police have not yet provided any update on whether the cause of the crash is being investigated.
With the bridge currently closed, there is no access from one end of Harper Lane to the other.
Motorists can expect traffic into Radlett to be heavier than usual while the road remains shut.
