Drivers are being warned of "long delays" along one of Watford’s busiest roads because of roadworks.
The congestion, which is particiularly affecting motorists heading out of Watford towards Garston, has been reported in St Albans Road.
They are being caused by nearby resurfacing works, taking place at the junction of Leavesden Road, Gammons Lane, Brighton Road, and Longspring.

Due to a lack of access from Leavesden Road, drivers are being forced to stay on St Albans Road.

Work and closures are believed to only be taking place between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm, lasting until Thursday (September 22).
According to One Network, work is also taking place by an energy company to install a new connection in St Albans Road, near the junction with Leavesden Road, causing a lane closure that could be adding to the delays.

North Watford Labour county councillor Asif Khan recently welcomed work to fill potholes and in Gammons Lane.
The councillor has committed £40,000 for his highways locality budget to get the work done.
