Our picture from the Watford Museum archive this week recalls a small chapel from the town's past - and a lovely story associated with it.
The museum's volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: "The actual location of the Gilead Chapel is unclear but, according to the historian, Henry Williams, it was at the end of the garden of Frogmore House - perhaps where the road leading to The Arches is today.
"The Morning Advertiser in January 1841, recounted a tale of a gentleman who preached at the chapel and became trapped in the building during a severe flood. He had not expected the flooding to reach him but it arrived so suddenly that he had to climb his pulpit for safety.
"The paper reported that he had remained there for nine hours with water surrounding him, smoking his pipe."
Watford Museum is open Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
