Watford Borough Council has explained what will happen to the thousands of unpaid council tax rebates after today’s deadline.
Earlier this year, the Government announced that every household in council tax bands A to D would receive a £150 rebate.
As of the end of July 10, 213 homes, or 32%, of the 32,000 eligible households in Watford were still waiting.

The deadline was extended from August 31 to September 9 to allow more people to claim their money.
However, the council confirmed yesterday that 26% of eligible Watford residents have still not been paid.
Councillor Mark Watkin said: “I am very conscious that people who need this most during these times of hardship, are sometimes the hardest members of our community to contact.”
A spokesperson for Watford Borough Council added: “Residents who have not completed their application by this date will have the amount posted to their council tax account.
"It is important to note that no resident will miss out on this payment.”
