This scene was captured at the junction of two roads in Watford but it is not known what the event was nor when it took place.
The Watford Observer is delighted to share pictures from the Watford Museum and this week’s shows a parade in Woodford Road.
The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “I've not been able to find any information to give a clue to the event nor a date.
"The view shows a parade travelling from Station Road and into Woodford Road (at this time Woodford Road had two-way traffic). The bus is exiting Clarendon Road and Watford Junction station is out of picture on the left.
“The high vantage point suggests that it was taken from what at the time would have been the Clarendon Hotel and today is O'Neills.
"Unfortunately, nothing in the image helps to explain the event but there appears to be two Pearly Kings on one of the vehicles.”
