A planning application has been submitted to introduce a 15-metre 5G phone mast that will be taller than a block of flats.
CK Hutchinson Networks UK has proposed for the pole to be constructed on the grass verge at the junction of Bournehall Road and the High Street in Bushey.
The plans include three equipment cabinets, 10 paving slabs and associated ancillary works to be built.

According to the application, the proposed 5G slim line pole will be higher than a tree near the site, which is six metres high.
If built, it will also be taller than nearby streetlamps that stand at 10 metres high, with one already near the grass verge.
And, if the phone mast is approved, it will also surpass a nearby block of flats which is approximately 12 metres high.
The plans were submitted on Wednesday, August 24 and a decision is still to be decided.
