Fire engines were called to a blaze after smoke was seen “billowing” from a bedroom window.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 10.13am this morning (September 5) to a report of a computer on fire in Parkgate Road, Watford.
Two engines from Watford and Garston stations were sent to the scene, firefighters extinguished the fire in an upstairs bedroom and checked that it had not spread.

Garston watch commander Peter Wilson said: “The owner was on the ball, he noticed it and isolated the electrics and left the property.
"On arrival we could see smoke coming out of the bedroom window.

"The team entered with breathing apparatus and a hose drill jet, and we located and extinguished the fire.”
The fire service added that no one was injured, and it did not spread to neighbouring properties.

Nearby resident Catherine Baldwin said: “Our garden was full of smoke from the fire.
“We could see the smoke billowing over the rooftops and the tops of the flashing emergency lights.”
