As part of enquiries into the assault, police want to find a member of the public who helped the victim and suggested that he go to hospital.
Sian Smith, from the Three Rivers local crime unit, said: “We’re keen to trace this person as they may have information to assist our ongoing enquiries. Due to the assault, the male was unable to recall if they were male or female.
“We’d also like to hear from anyone else who may have information about what happened. Did you see that assault, or the events leading up to it? If you can help, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to email sian.smith@herts.police.uk or call 101, quoting crime reference 41/67176/22.
