A Rickmansworth bank will close its doors for good in a couple of weeks’ time – but a service will be retained in the town.
The area’s MP Gagan Mohindra says he has received numerous emails after it was announced Barclays would shut on September 16.
Barclays says it identified just 22 customers who use the Church Street branch exclusively for their banking.

Mr Mohindra, the Conservative MP for South West Hertfordshire, says he knows many of his constituents were “keen” to keep the bank open and says he has been in talks with Barclays about keeping a presence in the town.
He has now confirmed a representative that from September 19, a Barclays representative will be at Rickmansworth library in High Street, to handle any non-transactional services and enquiries.
They will be there on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Customers who want to withdraw money or make deposits are being advised to use the post office in High Street.

Mr Mohindra wrote on his Facebook page: “I realise this may not be the desired outcome for everyone, but I hope that this new service will be a sufficient replacement for those that need it when the bank closes.”
