Lidl is nearly ready to submit proposals for a new store near the M25.
The budget supermarket exchanged contracts for the World of Water site in Watford Road earlier this year and said an application would be submitted in "due course".
A spokesperson has now told the Watford Observer "plans are being finalised and we are looking to submit this autumn".

After the initial report, some branded its location a “ridiculous idea” due to traffic fears and others said it’s an “accident waiting to happen”.
But a poll showed readers were evenly split over the prospect.
Elsewhere, Lidl has confirmed that its new store in South Oxhey on the corner of Prestwick Road and Oxhey Drive is due to welcome customers in November.
