The A41 will be shut until the mid-afternoon after flooding and a three-vehicle crash caused long delays this morning.
Police were called to the A41 North Western Avenue at 7.40am after reports of a collision just before Hutton Bridge roundabout.
A grey Audi A3, a brown Vauxhall Adam Jam and a grey VW Golf were involved.
Minor injuries were reported and the road was shut while the incident was dealt with.
But at 9.10am road closures were then put in place both ways on the A41 just west of The Dome roundabout after reports of flooding.

It is expected to remain shut until 3.30pm.
Hertfordshire Constabulary have asked motorists to “drive sensibly” by slowing down and having lights on during the heavy rain.
They tweeted: “Visibility is severely restricted in wet weather and many of the roads will be greasy and therefore slippery.”
With a yellow warning in place by the Met Office, thunderstorms and more flooding are likely until around 3pm in Watford.
