Customers, the owners, and the council hope the Cha Café building will continue as a welcoming café once new operators are found.
The announcement that the Cha Café will close on August 31 was met with sadness, with many expressing how much they enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere.
Some were also concerned about the future of the building, hoping the cafe does not become part of a chain.

One comment read: "I hope that the council are able to let the lease in a way that provides an individual family led offering and continues the varied good value selection currently available."
Watford Borough Council owns the Pavilion building, but the café is run independently.
The council explained that it plans to seek a new operator during autumn: "to make sure it continues as a successful and welcoming café in the heart of the park."
The Cha Café announcement, on Facebook, said: “We feel it is now time to hand over to someone new - we wish whoever this may be the best of luck and trust that their journey will be as happy as ours has been.”
