Hero firefighters stormed into a house fire yesterday and saved a woman in her 80s trapped inside.
Fire crews were called to Finch Lane in Bushey at 10.15am yesterday (August 18) after reports of black smoke coming from the garden.
When they arrived they found a two-floor detached property on fire and were told someone was inside the building.
A Herts Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire fighters, with breathing apparatus, went in a rescued one woman from inside the building and extinguished the fire with hose wheels.

“One person was taken to hospital.”
It is currently unclear how badly injured the woman was.
However, an eyewitness reportedly claimed to have seen someone being brought out on a stretcher.
A Herts Police spokesperson said: "Officers attended to provide assistance to the fire service at the scene.
"A woman aged in her 80s was taken to hospital where she remains at this time.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the cause."
Two engines from Watford and one from Garston were sent to the blaze, which was extinguished by 10.50am.
