Three men have been charged after an alleged machete attack left a man with a slashed foot.

Police say that the man who was attacked has since left hospital and is recovering after a group fight in High Street, Watford, on Tuesday, August 16.

A police helicopter, armed police and other officers rushed to the scene at around 5pm to find the man with injuries to his foot.

Three men were arrested and have now been charged. They are:

  • Shoaib Nabizada, aged 22, of Beverley Drive, Edgware, has been charged with affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
  • Parwez Hotak, aged 20, of Chapman Road, Croydon, has been charged with affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
  • Alexandru Buciu, aged 18, of St Albans Road, Watford, has been charged with affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

All three were due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates Court today (August 18).

Detective Inspector Chris Parperi said: “Incidents of this nature will not be tolerated, and we appreciate it will have caused a great deal of concern among the local community.

“Our officers responded immediately, three men were swiftly arrested and have now been charged.

“If you have any information about the incident, and haven’t yet spoken to police, we’d urge you to please do so.”
