A Watford gym has seen a 30% boost in women members after introducing female only zones.
NRG Gym Watford opened its female only zones shortly after the pandemic, which it says help women feel safer in classes and when using equipment 24/7.
The areas have proved popular and were refurbished four months ago, with a new delivery of equipment coming in yesterday.

Assistant manager Conner Cook said: “The more we’ve advertised it the more we’ve seen female membership increase.
“At gyms there is a lot of harassment and, in the bluntest terms, men being creepy.
“Women come up to me and say that they feel safer, and there's more of a community too.
“They can feel more confident and don’t have to worry about people looking in or anything.”
The gym added that some women also feel more comfortable using the zones for religious regions, for example being able to take off head scarves.
Even male personal trainers do not enter the zones when they are in use.
