A hospital building was locked down after suspicions that a woman was approaching people pretending to be a doctor.
The women’s and children’s building at Watford General Hospital was shut for an hour on Friday (August 12) following reports of a woman behaving suspiciously.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said that police were called just after 2.15pm after hearing a woman approached staff pretending to be a doctor.
When questioned, the woman fled.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A woman, aged in her 20s, was later arrested on suspicion of impersonating a doctor. She has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.”
Sally Tucker, the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust chief operating officer, explained that security has since been tightened in the building with increased patrols.
She said: “I would like to thank our staff and Herts Police who reacted so quickly and efficiently to protect our patients.”
