Rail passengers in the Watford area face huge disruption this weekend because of strike action.
Workers are taking industrial action forcing Network Rail to shut London Euston on Saturday (August 13) to all services except the Underground.
London Northwestern Railway, which serves Watford Junction, will be operating no trains at all on Saturday.
There will also be no trains on the Avanti West Coast line and there will be no London Overground services running either between Watford Junction and Euston.

The Metropolitan Line will be running so rail passengers will be able to use this service to travel into London; however the service is expected to be extremely busy and generally, passengers are being urged not to travel on Saturday.
The strike has been called by the ASLEF union, with general secretary Mick Whelan calling for pay rises for workers in line with inflation.
Services are expected to be running again on Sunday but major disruption can be expected due to Saturday’s action.

James Dean, Network Rail West Coast South route director, said: “We’re sorry to passengers who’ll be impacted by the ASLEF strike by train drivers this Saturday.
“With the majority of Euston’s train operators involved we’ve taken the difficult decision to close the station all day.
“I’d please urge people to follow the advice of their train operator for information on ticketing and refunds. You can also plan your journey for an alternative day by using the National Rail Enquiries website at www.nationalrail.co.uk.”

Further strike action by the RMT is planned on Thursday August 18 and 20, affecting several rail companies including Chiltern and Thameslink as well as London Northwestern Railway.
An extremely limited number of services are expected to be running on these lines on these days with passengers urged to check the National Rail or respective rail company’s website for the latest and most up-to-date information.
Meanwhile, a reduced timetable will be running on London Northwestern services over the August bank holiday due to engineering work.
Passengers can expect disruption both ways between Milton Keynes and Euston due to the work by HS2 from Saturday August 27 to August 29.
