A councillor took action to get a trip hazard made safe after himself falling victim to it.
Councillor Stephen Cox was delivering the Labour Party newsletter to flats near South Oxhey’s new market square in Prestwick Road when he tripped on a piece of metal sticking up from the pavement.
The metal was part of a damaged bollard, which Cllr Cox covered with a cone.

Cllr Cox informed Countryside Homes, which is redeveloping the centre of the estate.
The hazard has now been removed and a new bollard has been ordered.
The developer said it will continue to check the area until it becomes Hertfordshire County Council’s responsibility.
Cllr Cox said: “I am glad to have got this danger sorted out as anyone could have had a nasty fall.”
