Bin collections in Watford will be made earlier due to the upcoming heatwave.
Watford Borough Council has said that waste bins will need to be out by 5.30am, or the night before where possible, in order to prioritise the health and safety of its staff, who would otherwise work at the hottest time of day.
The Met Office has issued a four-day amber warning for extreme heat from Thursday August 11 to Sunday August 14, with temperatures set to climb to 35C or even 36C in some places.

The warning says the extreme heat could cause health problems across the population, not just among people vulnerable to extreme heat, leading to potential serious illness or danger to life.
Watford Borough Council has said it is expecting particularly hot temperatures on Thursday and Friday.
We are expecting very hot temperatures next week, particularly on Monday and Tuesday. In order to prioritise the health and safety of our staff, the waste and recycling collections will start from 5:00am to avoid the hottest time of the day. https://t.co/uwljueyZfM pic.twitter.com/nu9O5YLlKX

The council has asked for patience regarding any missed collections.
Similar measures were put in place on Monday July 18 and Tuesday 19 July when the council asked for bins to be out 5.00am.
As @metoffice forecasts high temps this week, let's look out for each other during the hot weather - the heat can affect anyone, but for some, it can have serious effects on their health.
