Affinity Water is asking customers to “hang up your hose” despite “no need for any restrictions at this stage".
The Affinity Water website describes storage levels as “below average”, one stage above the point where the provider would begin planning for possible temporary use restrictions.
The website says: “While there’s no need for any restrictions at this stage, we're asking people to not waste water.”

An Affinity Water spokesperson said: “At current levels, we should not need to introduce restrictions this year, however we are dependent on rainfall over the upcoming autumn/winter period to refill groundwater aquifers for spring/summer 2023 and we are closely monitoring the situation.”
During autumn and winter last year, there wasn't as much rainfall as normal, so our groundwater levels are below average. 🌧️
