- Plans for homes in The Parade in Watford town centre have been rejected tonight
- A total of 147 flats were proposed in two new buildings near Sainsbury's
- The building which would be demolished is home to Pryzm nightclub, Iceland, Laser Planet, Steinbeck & Shaw, two estate agents, and a beauty salon
- The plans were recommended for refusal by Watford Borough Council officers and the planning committee unanimously agreed with the officer's recommendation
- They were critical of the quality of the accommodation of the scheme
- They rejected an appeal by the applicant to defer the scheme
- Despite the rejection tonight, the landlord said in June all of its tenants are being evicted by the end of January 2023 even if its plans are rejected
