Train disruption in Watford has continued today after rail infrastructure was badly damaged during the heatwave.
National Rail says that faulty overhead electric wires between London Euston and Watford Junction means that some lines remain blocked today (July 20).
Some trains running between these stations may be cancelled or revised.
Several services between Watford and St Albans have been cancelled as engineers deal with cable wrapped around the pantograph.
⚠️ There is currently no service from #Watford to #StAlbans as there is a cable wrapped around the pantograph (the metal on top of an electric train to connect the it to the overhead lines ⚡️)

The damage was caused by the heat seen over the last two days, after a record-breaking temperature of 40.3C was recorded in the UK.
National Rail says that “major damage” was caused to the railway infrastructure on the London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway network.
Although the extreme heat warning has passed, the Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorms warning covering Hertfordshire between noon and 10pm today.
