Following the shocking fire at Abbey View, Meriden, the Watford Observer has spoken to many people who put others first to try and support those impacted by the blaze.
A man rushing into the building at 5am to help others escape, not leaving until being directed out by firefighters.
A woman starting a fundraiser to help her best friend's family repair their lives after their flat was destroyed.
A little girl offering her birthday money to pay for all the other children’s breakfast after they had been evacuated.
Community centres and food banks tirelessly providing residents who were affected with whatever they need.

All of this has shown the strength of the Watford community pulling together to help one another.
As well as individual courage, the swift response by emergency services has been praised across the board.
However, there are also lingering questions.
Residents have raised concerns about safety measures and long-term issues at the tower. While ongoing investigations must be thorough, it is important that these concerns are addressed soon.
It seems like “Grenfell” was the word everyone was thinking during the fire, thankfully with no casualties it did not come to that, and every effort must be made to ensure it never does.
