Local MPs have remained tight-lipped once again on whether they still have faith in Boris Johnson’s leadership following a flood of resignations in the Conservative party.
There have been a number of Tory ministers and aides who have resigned or expressed no confidence in the Prime Minister within the last 24 hours.
However, the Watford Observer has yet to hear back from Watford MP Dean Russell, South West Herts MP Gagan Mohindra and Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden.
The resignations unfolded after Boris Johnson apologised for hiring former deputy chief Chris Pincher, despite knowing he had faced complaints over inappropriate behaviour back in 2019.
In the past few days, Mr Johnson had been changing his messaging over the hiring and handling of Mr Pincher, after he quit last week since accusations of groping two men in a private member’s club in London arose.
Mr Dowden resigned on June 24 as Chairman of the Conservatives after a by-election defeat and recent string of bad results for the party.

He said at the time: “We cannot carry on with business as usual.
“Somebody must take responsibility and I have concluded that, in these circumstances, it would not be right for me to remain in office.”
However, he has not responded to requests for comment following the latest developments.
Watford’s MP Dean Russell has previously backed Mr Johnson despite several controversies - notably partygate - but has not responded to questions for comment today.
Mr Mohindra has also avoided speaking to the Watford Observer in the past to clarify his thoughts on the Prime Minister.
