A city centre street has been shut due to a serious crash.
Police say the collision in St Peter's Street in St Albans involves a moped and a pedestrian.
Emergency services were called just before 4pm.
Police fficers are currently on scene, alongside the ambulance service and road closures are in place.
An air ambulance has also been seen landing at Verulanium Park.
People have been asked by police to avoid St Peter's Street.
Numerous buses that serve the road are unable to at this time.
In a statement, Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "We're currently at the scene of a road traffic collision in St Peter's Street, StAlbans, this afternoon (Tuesday 5 July).
"Road closures have been put in place and people are asked to please avoid the area at this time. Thank you."
Hertfordshire Highways has described it as a "serious" collision and says it has happened in St Peter's Street near the junction with Victoria Street.

The incident is causing traffic disruption in St Albans city centre with Hatfield Road, Holywell Hill, and Victoria Street affected, along with St Peter's Street.
