A proposal to turn an empty shop into a store operated by a a high street chain is among the planning applications validated by Watford, Three Rivers and Dacorum councils in the week beginning June 27.

The plans for the redevelopment of the vacant Staples Office Supplies in London Road, Hemel Hempstead, have been submitted to Dacorum Borough Council on behalf of the owners of the retail park.

It has applied for permission for the empty unit to be occupied by The Food Warehouse, a retail out-of-centre foodstore operated by Iceland.
