A 16-year-old boy was punched and hit with a "metal stick" during an attempted robbery in broad daylight.
Police said it happened at 3.40pm on Tuesday, June 21, outside the Sugar & Spice shop in Hagden Lane, Watford, at the Vicarage Road junction.
Two males attempted to take the victim's bike before being thwarted by an unknown male member of the public who intervened.

The attackers then fled towards Tom Sawyer Way on bicycles.
Police have now urged the male who interevened to come forward to help the investigation.
There were also several other people reported to have been nearby who police would like to speak to.
