A paedophile sexually abused a young girl for nearly two years has been jailed.
Sorin Buca, 50, previously pleaded guilty at St Albans Crown Court to the attempted rape of the child under 13, sexual assault of a child under 13, 10 counts of sexual activity and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The court heard how the Romanian national abused the girl between August 2018 and August 2020 and in one occasion he got into bed with the victim in an attempt to rape her.
The abuse was reported to police after the girl spoke to someone about what happened.
Buca, of Watford, appeared in court today (June 17) where he was sentenced to 11 years and 10 months imprisonment.
He will also be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and a recommendation has been passed to deport him back to Romania at the end of the sentence.
The judge described how Buca’s despicable crimes took away the innocence of a child for his own sexual gratification.
