Two teenagers have been arrested after police responded to reports of a model being stolen.
The bike was taken from Raven Close in the Ascot Road area of Watford at around 7.50pm yesterday (June 15).
Hertfordshire Constabulary says its officers found it abandoned nearby but there was no sign of the rider.
A second moped is also believed to have made off from officers. With help from a dog unit, it was found in Moor View, off Vicarage Road.
Police confirmed a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of cannabis.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and taking a vehicle without consent.
Both remain in police custody at this time. Enquiries are continuing.
