A car was engulfed in flames after it caught fire on the M1 motorway.
The fire broke out as the vehicle was travelling northbound between Elstree and Watford in the early hours of Monday morning (June 13).
A video taken from a driver on the other side of the motorway, who stopped to check to see if people were safe, showed smoke billowing from the vehicle parked on the hard shoulder.
There were reportedly explosions with the woman whose car was on fire watching on as it was destroyed.
The driver going southbound said: “By the time firefighters came, the car was more than three-quarter burned.”
