A large haystack fire which raged for hours is being treated as suspected arson.
A 10m by 60m haystack was alight in a field in Chequers Lane near Abbots Langley, yesterday (June 12) in what the fire service believes was started deliberately.
Fire engines from Watford, Garston, St Albans, Hatfield, and Markyate attended after being called out at around 3.46pm.

However, a witness to the blaze told the Watford Observer that it may have been raging for as long as 12 hours.
Crews used one hose reel and two jets to extinguish the fire with firefighters sending a stop message at 9.27pm.
