The family of a "much-loved" grandmother from Watford have paid tribute to her after she was fatally hit by a van.
Betty Shaer, 89, was struck in Hempstead Road at around 1:30pm on May 20, following which a campaign for more safety measures was reignited.
Paying tribute to Betty, her family said: “Betty was the much-loved mother of Jo and Caroline and grandmother of Anna and Jono.

“She was a keen reader, gardener and lover of classical music.
“After the death of her husband, Victor, in February 2021 she was determined to remain in the family home she loved, supported by her family and neighbours.
“She continued to visit Cheslyn Gardens regularly and complete the Telegraph cryptic crossword every day.
"She will be sadly missed.”
death sparked renewed appeals from people living in the area for greater safety measures at the “dangerous” crossing between Courtlands Drive and Stanbury Avenue.
TheThe crossing has now been closed while vegetation is trimmed back and will be assessed for safety.
Police have also urged anyone with information about the crash who has not already contacted them to report it online or using the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference ISR 357 of 20 May.
