Firefighters rushed to put out a blaze that broke out beside a canal towpath.
Around six metres of a fence next to the Grand Union canal in Apsley caught light today, June 10, at 1.25pm.
One fire engine from Hemel Hempstead rushed to Frogmore Road and firefighters used a hose reel to put the flames out.
Photos by BBC senior journalist Eric Johnson shows people watching as the blaze spread, with a plume of smoke stretching down to Ebberns Road.
But the fire service said it had the flames out by 1.56pm.
The cause of the fire is said to be accidental.
