Around 50 overweight lorries were seen travelling along restricted roads during a three-month police operation.
Officers from the Bushey and Radlett safer neighbourhood have carried out 12 operations in the Radlett Road/Hartspring Lane area of Aldenham following complaints about "awful processions of lorries".
Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes are banned from using certain roads, such as Radlett Road which connects Radlett and Bushey, but some drivers have been ignoring signs.
After agreeing to crack down on the issue, over three months, around 50 overweight vehicles were spotted by police officers.
Police say half of the drivers were reported while 15 per cent were issued verbal warnings.
Ten per cent failed to stop for officers while a quarter were using the roads for delivery or collection purposes, which is allowed, so faced no action.
PC Kris Endersbee said: "Feedback from local residents has been positive. We are committed to listening to local residents about what policing issues are affecting their quality of life and working to address them."
Conservative Watling councillor Caroline Clapper, who has been working with police to resolve the issue, said previously: "Whilst it is unrealistic to suggest police can entirely stop this problem, this work should reduce the number of vehicles passing through the village.
"Hopefully this work will start to improve the volume of HGVs using this route as a cut through."
