A last-minute court order has been secured banning a religious traveller festival taking place.
Three Rivers District Council says it was inundated with complaints last summer about the Light and Life event in Bucks Hill near Sarratt.
The council says the festival lasted for a week and caused “significant distress and unacceptable levels of disturbance” to people living nearby.
After learning the festival was due to revisit in June, the council successfully applied for a High Court injunction which prevents unauthorised use of the land.
It bans any caravans or mobile homes, with the council required to return to court on June 9 to persuade a judge that the court order should remain in place.
In addition to the court order, on May 24 the planning inspectorate dismissed an enforcement appeal connected to the site.
As a result, the landowner has three months to return the land to the condition it was before an access route was widened for the festival last year.
