Two arrests were made and a machete was seized during three incidents dealt with by armed police in Hertfordshire yesterday (May 24).
Officers locked down Sandpit Lane in St Albans after reports that a person was in possession of a weapon at 4.55pm.
They searched a property and a man in his 40s was arrested after a machete was found.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information was asked to call 101 quoting ISR 538 of May 24.
Earlier in the day, a man was arrested following reports claiming that a man had a handgun at a property in Brook Road, Borehamwood.
The property and suspect were searched but no weapons were found.
Armed police were also called to reports that a male had been seen putting a suspected gun into a backpack in Albatross Way in Hatfield.
Officers searched the area but no suspects or weapons were found.
