A large fire has broken out this evening (Tuesday May 17).
Firefighters have been called to an area of Leavesden after flames were spotted by neighbours.
Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue says it was called shortly before 8.30pm to reports of an outbuilding on fire in the High Road area.
According to one local, several explosions and loud bangs have been heard.
Firefighters from Garston and Watford responded quickly and extinguished the fire using a hosereel, the fire service confirmed.
Residents in the Leavesden area spotted and smelt smoke drifting across the sky this evening.
