An important meeting is set to take place in a bid to stop people driving up a pavement near a school to park their cars.
Parking on verges near Queens' School and the Met Sports Club in Bushey has been a problem for years and has prompted concerns for the safety of schoolchildren.
Parents often drive onto a footpath during the school drop-off and pick-up period, as well as at weekends when sports clubs visit the Metropolitan Bushey site.
Despite numerous attempts to tackle the issue, the problem persists. Bushey North county councillor Laurance Brass said last week "urgent action" is needed because children are having to "dodge", while Queens' head teacher Jonathan Morrell says the potential for an accident is "greater than ever".

However, in a sign of progress, Cllr Brass offered an update following a meeting between Hertfordshire County Council and Hertsmere Borough Council on Friday.
He says representatives of both councils, the police, Mr Morrell, the Met club, and himself have agreed to sit around a table and find a solution. Cllr Brass, hopes the meeting, which is set to take place at the Met Club, will happen within weeks.
Cllr Brass, who was elected as county councillor last year, said: "It has been agreed that this is a matter that needs dealing with and the only way to tackle it is to get all stakeholders around the table. Hopefully a solution will be found because this is a safety issue."
Some solutions that have been forward include installing bollards and barriers, increasing the depth of the kerb, and looking into the possibility of allowing pupils to be dropped of and picked up at the Met sports club car park.
Phil Bibby, who is the Conservative councillor responsible for highways at the county council, says he "shares concerns about unsafe parking" and said Cllr Brass has been advised about how he could fund work from his £90,000 highways budget.
The Lib Dem councillor responded: "I don't accept the view that my entire budget could be used to resolve this issue - and Bushey residents should not be having to pay for safety issues."
