Hello there, my name’s Morris and I’m an affectionate, energetic one-year-old Lurcher. I came to the National Animal Welfare Trust when my previous owners couldn’t look after me and am desperate to find a new home I can call my own.
I’m a friendly lad who loves attention. I’m also very nosey and thoroughly enjoy sniffing out all the interesting smells and investigating everything I come across. This tires me out more than a nice long walk! Mental stimulation is great for keeping me occupied: I love eating my Natural Instinct raw food from Kongs and food puzzles, which help me to settle.
Because I love people, I don’t like being left alone and would like an owner who’s around most the time.
I like routine and can get worried if there are people coming and going at different times.
My high prey drive means I can’t live with smaller dogs and other pets. This instinct to chase small creatures means I need to wear a muzzle and be kept on the lead in public.
Unfortunately, I can’t live with young children, as I’m very bouncy and can be snatchy with food. I’d love access to a secure garden for me to explore and relax in without my muzzle.
I love making new canine friends who are a similar size to me and could even live with one, as long as we got on well here at the centre.
If you’re an experienced owner who’d continue my reward-based training, email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0177 (option 2).
