Inspectors appeared impressed in a list of highly-rated eateries across Watford after recent visits.
The Watford Observer has been logging inspections on a monthly basis so that readers can stay up-to-date with which spots have been up to code.
Five is top of the scale, meaning the hygiene standards are very good and fully comply with the law and zero is at the bottom of the scale, meaning urgent improvement is necessary.
Here is a round-up of the recent scores within Watford Borough Council between the end of March until now:
Two Trees Micro
Vicarage Road
The new micro pub that opened recently was found to be ‘very good’ with a rating of 5 after an inspection on March 24.
All areas inspected – the hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and the management of food safety – were rated ‘good’.
‘Nim’s Kitchen’
Classed as a retailer, ‘Nim’s Kitchen’ was classed as ‘good’ with a rating of 4 after an inspection on March 28.
The hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities were rated ‘good’ and the management of food safety was ‘generally satisfactory’.
Tremona Care Home
Alexandra Road, Watford
The care home kitchen was found to be ‘very good’ with a rating of 5 after an inspection on March 29.
All areas inspected – the hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and the management of food safety – were rated ‘very good’.
Kokoro
High Street, Watford
Kokoro was found to be ‘very good’ with a rating of 5 after a visit on March 29.
All areas inspected – the hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and the management of food safety – were rated ‘very good’.
Xtremburger @ The Estcourt Arms
On March 30, inspectors found the venue to be ‘very good’ with a rating of 5.
The cleanliness and condition of facilities were ‘very good’ and the hygienic food handling and management of food safety ‘good’.
Meanwhile the general Estcourt Arms kitchen was also found to be ‘very good’, with all individual areas inspected rated ‘good’.
HCL @ Parkgate Infant and Nursery School
Northfield Gardens, Watford
On March 30, the nursery was visited and ranked ‘very good’ with a rating of 5.
All areas inspected – the hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and the management of food safety – were rated ‘very good’.
Bake Wise
On April 1, Bake Wise was found to be ‘generally satisfactory’ with a rating of 3.
Both the cleanliness and condition of facilities, as well as the management of food safety, were generally satisfactory.
But the hygienic food handling was ‘good’.
Chaii Junction
On April 5, the café specialising in sweet and savoury snacks was ranked ‘good’ with a rating of 4.
Both the hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities were ‘good’ but the management of food safety was ‘generally satisfactory’.
