A railway worker was taken to hospital after she was hit by a train over the bank holiday weekend.
The incident happened near Chalfont & Latimer station at 9.30am on April 15 and involved a member of staff from the London Underground.
Train services on the Metropolitan Line and Chiltern Railway line were severely disrupted on Good Friday after reports came in of a casualty on the tracks.
It has now been confirmed that a woman working close to the track was hit by a train. She was taken to hospital but the British Transport Police says her injuries are not deemed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
The Observer understands the incident is being treated as accidental and the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) has confirmed that it has been made aware of what happened.
A spokesperson for the RAIB said: "The RAIB was notified of an accident involving a member of London Underground staff who was struck by a train while working close to the track near Chalfont and Latimer station.
"We sent a team of inspectors to the site to gather evidence as part of the process of conducting a preliminary examination.
"A decision on whether an investigation will be launched will be taken in the coming days."
A police spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called to the line near Chalfont & Latimer station at 9.30am on 15 April following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and a woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries that were not deemed life-changing or life-threatening.
"This incident has been referred to the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB)."
Railway services were affected by the incident with all lines blocked at one stage. Transport for London reported severe delays on the Met Line, affecting passengers using Watford, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Moor Park, and Chorleywood stations.
The Chiltern line was also disrupted via Rickmansworth.
